If your KOTIN PC cannot find a wireless network, has trouble connecting, or keeps disconnecting, start with the checks below.
This guide covers common Wi-Fi (WiFi) issues on Windows 11. It applies to KOTIN PCs equipped with wireless networking. Antenna designs, wireless adapters, and driver requirements vary by configuration.
1. Check Your Wi-Fi Antennas
If your PC came with external Wi-Fi antennas, make sure they are attached to the matching connectors on the back of the PC. Some configurations use two separate antennas; others use a combined antenna unit with cables.
Attach them gently by hand without overtightening. Position the antennas upright or place the antenna unit in an open location, rather than behind the metal case or inside an enclosed cabinet.
Missing or poorly positioned antennas can contribute to weak reception—even when your router is nearby.
2. Check the Windows Wi-Fi Settings
Open Settings → Network & internet. Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on and Airplane mode is off.
Select your network and enter its password. If the Wi-Fi option is missing entirely, skip to the driver section below.
You can also open the Windows Get Help app and run its Network and Internet troubleshooter.
3. If Your Network Appears but Will Not Connect
Go to Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → Manage known networks. Select your network, choose Forget, and reconnect using the correct password.
Restart your PC, then check whether another device can connect to the same network. If multiple devices have no internet access, check your router or contact your internet provider.
Only restart a router you own or are authorized to manage. Do not press its factory-reset button.
4. If the Connection Is Slow or Keeps Dropping
Try moving the PC or antenna unit closer to the router. Walls, metal furniture, and the PC case can weaken wireless reception.
For a useful comparison:
- Test near the router with the antennas properly connected.
- Pause large downloads or cloud backups while checking the connection.
- If your router offers separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks and your PC supports both, try each one. The better choice depends on distance and interference.
- If available, compare the connection using an Ethernet cable.
A weak wireless signal, slow internet service, and a slow download server can produce similar symptoms. A single speed test does not identify the cause by itself.
5. If Wi-Fi Disappeared After Reinstalling Windows
A fresh Windows installation may need the correct wireless driver.
Right-click Start, open Device Manager, and expand Network adapters. Look for a wireless adapter or a device with a warning symbol.
Drivers must match the installed hardware. Use the motherboard or wireless-adapter manufacturer’s official support site, or contact KOTIN for help identifying the correct download. Avoid third-party driver download tools.
If the PC cannot get online, you can use another computer to download the driver and transfer it using a USB drive. Do not assume a driver intended for another KOTIN model will work on yours.
Still Need Help?
Contact KOTIN with:
